Fund Raising

The Parent and Friend group organises many fund raising events year round, however for these to be successful other community member are required to help out as many of these are day long events and by filling in a few hours each we can share the load. For those unable to attend the event itself there is still the opportunity to help in other ways, such as ordering/collecting in materials or ensuring equipment is ready for use. The events listed below are regular however you need to keep an eye on the website, newsletters and community whiteboards around the school for when help is required at other times.

  • Little Day Out – this is our major annual event, our end of year open day, it occurs in the last Term of the year and requires an all of community commitment to make it successful. We aim to provide a fun activity packed day for all who attend.  We have kids activities and games, drumming workshops, live music, a variety of refreshments and stalls. Organisation starts at the beginning of the year and in Term 4 there are no enterprise days to allow families to prepare for this event.
  • Wheel’a’thon – in the second term when it starts to cool down but is not yet too wet the children can use any mode of transport as long as it has wheels and is not motorised, to complete circuits round the lake. It is a fun day for everyone to join in and we need all hands on deck to count laps completed, fill water bottles and if required help with punctures. Sponsorship forms are provided at the beginning of term 2.
  • Boyanup markets – on the fourth Sunday of every month Child Side is paid to help set up the Boyanup Farmers Market. This entails putting signs up a week before the event and then on the day setting up chairs, tables, umbrellas, BBQ and various other tasks. The setup is from 6am and the clearing away starts from midday.
  • Donnybrook cake stalls and wood raffles – several times during the year the school will have a stall or raffle outside the Donnybrook IGA, times and dates vary so keep an eye out for when help is needed either by baking cakes or manning the stall for an hour or two.
