Artwork by Delphine Schwarze [family and community member]

The land always knew the blessings to come, as two powerful, passionate, heart driven women embarked on a journey to create a community where children would continue to flourish.

This painting depicts many different elements of Child Side, including the love for nature, coming together as one and lifelong connections.

The yarning circles are painted in warm earthy tones with intricate designs and patterns that represent the unique Aboriginal culture and the colours of the land with which we stand on.

“Yarning circles” or “Meeting Place” represent a place of connection, a place to yarn, eat, learn and laugh.

The shades of blue portray the significance of the blue skies seen all around.  Its always been a time of reflection for when there once was only the land and blue skies.

Little Day Out – Open Day – 5th November 2023

We invite families and the wider community who are curious to see how, and listen why, we Care for Country, Care for Children and Care for Community, to step into Child Side School during our Little Day Out (LDO) gathering on 5th November.
Our LDO is designed around acknowledging the contribution of community and the impact this has on children and their own motivation to contribute. This LDO is our first back after the pandemic interruption and is especially important to us to kick-start again, as it is our 21st year as an established “small by design”, child-relatable, life long learning community.
